Rains and recent King Tides mean nature needs a helping hand with marine debris*. On January 29 Conservancy habitat restoration volunteers and County rangers conducted a waterway cleanup. Marine debris was removed by kayaking to hard-to-reach spots in the lagoon’s central basin. We welcomed County Supervisor District III, Dave Roberts, who joined in the cleanup. While public watercraft activities aren’t allowed in the lagoon, debris removal efforts are arranged as needed. Volunteers are encouraged to help restore native habitats throughout the reserve. *Did you know? 80% of marine debris comes from inland sources.
